    Hydraulic Pumps
Hydraulic pumps convert mechanical energy into fluid power energy. All hydraulic pumps are positive displacement, which means the outlet flow is sealed from the inlet flow. A small amount of fluid is designed to leak internally to lubricate and cool the internal components of the pump. The only function of a pump is to create flow in a system. The load induced on the system determines pressure. If pump flow is directed back to the reservoir without restriction, no pressure will be developed. If a load or restriction is introduced to the pump flow, pressure will rise to overcome the resistance. Hydraulic pumps can be grouped into two classes: fixed displacement and variable displacement.

Vickers 02-335172 - M Series Industrial Axial Piston Pump
The PVM is an open circuit, axial piston pump desgin. The PVM is the newest design within the Eaton piston pump family. The PVM pump features a saddle-type yoke with steel-backed polymer bearings. The stiff yoke reduces deflection and allows even loading of bearings, improving life. A single control piston reduces loading on the yoke, resulting in reduced pump size that allows installation in tighter locations. The PVM is capable of operating with many types of hydraulic fluids. Water-content and phosphate ester fluids can be accomodated, in addition to the typical petroleum based and synthetic fluids. Commonly used in the following industries:
-Wood processing
-Plastic injection molding
-Material handling
-Automotive transfer lines
-Metal diecast
-Pulp and paper
