Applied offers a wide selection of sealing products from industry leading suppliers. The most common seals, oil seals, are mainly used for preventing leaks and dust. They are also used in rotary applications by keeping oil and other lubricants in the proper position. In extremely high speed conditions, oil seals prevent the leakage in the output shaft as well as maintain optimum lubrication.
To maintain a tight seal against leakage, most of the seals contain a flexible lip which rubs against the rotating shaft. Oil seals prohibit fluid leakage for mechanisms such as pumps, mixers and agitators. Hydraulic seals can be used only for some specific applications, and they arrest leaks at certain circumstances. Some special grease and oil seals are available with a spring assembly to maintain contact between seal and the shaft. |
