Delivering Value to the Agricultural Industry – Replacing Heavy Duty Axles with Poclain MS05 Motors and Smart Drive Off-Road Software
The Little Rascal Orchard Bin Carrier turned to Spencer Fluid Power for help identifying an alternative to their heavy duty axles and drop box system that had been in use since the company began.
Dan Deigan of Spencer Fluid Power introduced Poclain Hydraulics to The Little Rascal Orchard Bin Carrier founder George Cabral, and with the help of Poclain Hydraulics, Spencer Fluid Power displaced the axle system. Today, Spencer Fluid Power supplies the Poclain MS05 motors with the Smart Drive Off-Road software that has proven itself in strawberry harvesting. Despite these bin carriers working in mud up to the axles, the Poclains keep the machine moving.
The Smart Drive Off-Road package creates a four-wheel drive system by sensing wheel slip and diverting flow to the hydraulic motors that are not slipping. This function is automatic; it does not require an operator to do anything other than keep driving. The Smart Drive Off-Road package includes an Eaton HD transmission with a 2600 PS pump, Vickers E490 D03 mobile valves, Spencer Ag Cylinders, TT oil cooler, Char-Lynn motors and orbitral.
