How many characters are required for a username and password?
Usernames and passwords should be between 4 and 18 characters in length. Customers should use only alphanumeric characters and no spaces for their passwords. Alphanumeric characters encompass all letters in the alphabet and all numbers 0-9 (i.e., ABC123).
Are the username and password case sensitive?
No. The username and password are not case sensitive.
Should a password be changed?
For security reasons, a password should be periodically changed. A password can be changed at any time by logging in and clicking on My Account. In the Login Information section, type your new password in the line reading "Please choose a password." Retype your password in the next line. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click Update. Your change will take place immediately.
I forgot my username and/or password. What do I need to do?
On the home page of Applied.com, click the Forgot Password button. You will be taken to a new screen where you will enter your username and e-mail. Click Submit and your password will automatically be sent to your registered e-mail account.
Do I need an account to place an order?
If you would like to purchase from the Web site with your established credit terms, you will need to provide a Username, Password, and Account number. However, you do not need an account to use the Browse and Buy section. Purchases can be made using a Visa, MasterCard, or American Express. Enter information on Credit Card, Credit Card Number, Expiration Date, and CSC number to complete your order.
What is the functionality of the Remember Me box?
The Remember Me tool allows customers to keep their username and password on the Applied.com home page. Each time they logon to Applied.com after Remember Me has been selected, they will be automatically directed to their account.
For customers who delete their computer cookies, their username and password will be deleted each time the cookies are deleted. Therefore, these shoppers must supply their username and password each time they log on after the cookies have been erased. Cookies are refreshed every time the customer logs on. Each time they are refreshed, the login and password will remain on the site for 30 days. If 30 days have passed since the customer has logged in, they will need to supply their username and password in order to access the site.
